USAID SUPPORTS EXPORT OF KAZAKHSTANI GOODS TO AFGHANISTAN ALMATY, KAZAKHSTAN —– July 11, 2013, Afghan buyers will import Kazakhstani goods valued at more than $7 million as a result of the trade mission organized by KAZNEX INVEST in partnership with the USAID Regional Economic Cooperation Project. The trade mission included top managers from 14 Kazakhstani companies who visited Kabul to present and promote products and goods made in Kazakhstan and to negotiate trade deals with Afghan entrepreneurs. The trade exchange was attended by more than 100 Afghan companies. Based on the preliminary results of the trade negotiations, the Kazakhstani companies will export to Afghanistan armored glass, sunflower oil, pharmaceuticals, flour, macaroni, construction materials, and household chemicals. Michael Trueblood, Economic Growth Director for USAID in Central Asia shared his support for these important negotiations. “This successful trip to Kabul is a great example of one of the many ways that Kazakhstan is bolstering trade to promote a stable future in Afghanistan. USAID is honored to partner with Kazakhstan in its support for cross-border trade regionally.”
