Unconfirmed sources from Makeni have just furnished me some info that the virus Ebola is spreading it deadly wings slowly in Makeni town. It continues to do it dirty job, infecting and killing innocent people. One of the obstacles our government is facing is people from different localities fail to conform to the medical instructions. They just don’t believe that Ebola is real. Most people still harbor those infected relatives with the Ebola virus. The local government in Makeni has just instructed their people to stay indoors on this coming Friday to Sunday for a thorough search of Ebola patients. There would be medical health teams visiting houses in search of those infected. Those infected, if found would be taken to the hospital and quarantined. I am sure our religious leaders should have a role to play to help educating our people about this disease. Their role should be to serve as informers spreading the message to their congregants in their various pulpits. Education should play a immense role. This virus discriminates no one; it is here to wipeout humanity. Every Sierra Leonean in the Diaspora should have a major role to play as an educator at home, telling people what to do in order to safe guard themselves. Ebola does not know Mende, Temne, Limba or Fula. It stretches its deadly hands on any tribal group. This is worse than the rebel war. The only way Sierra Leone can come out this is to work together as a unified force and eradicate this epidemic. We are losing precious souls fellow Serra Leoneans.
