Unfortunately, most people dont understand the difference between electric, sonic and ultrasonic toothbrushes. Electric typically vibrate at speeds of less than 10,000 movements per minute. Sonic go from around 10,000 to around 40,000 movements per minute. Ultrasonic give off a wave (not vibration) which is equivalent to around 192,000,000 movements per minute or 1.6 megahertz. This way is a sound that is so high that humans cannot hear it anymore. These frequencies are used to treat broken bones and do imaging, albeit at a even higher frequency. So, if the vibration is in thousands of times per minute, it is probably electric or sonic. If it is in the millions, it is ultrasonic. Sonic waves reach where bristles cannot. Good health.
