University of Hawaii scientists found that consumption of highly processed meats could lead to cancer of the pancreas. A study of 190,000 people found that those that ate the largest quantities of hot dogs, sausage and other processed meats had the highest rates of pancreatic cancer. They believe that the blame lies with the carcinogens that are produced during the processing or cooking. Stay with whole cuts of meat, from a single animal source.
