Update: Im enjoying my break after chemo and before surgery! I noticed today that I could climb the stairs to my deck without my heart pounding and without sucking wind--maybe Ive turned a corner! Also had some very good news regarding my surgery on Aug. 20: the regular surgeon will still be doing his part of looking for any remaining cancerous tissue, and now my plastic surgeon is also on board to do my reconstruction surgery at the same time. Apparently, this will not interfere with radiation and will eliminate the need for an extra surgery later this year or early next year.
