Update on Beau, our little parvo puppy: (photos from today) I just got off the phone with Beaus clinician. Beau is doing well. They think the worst is behind him. He still has his nasogastric feeding tube in, but is much more energetic than he has been and his blood work and blood pressure has stayed stable this afternoon/evening. They are going to try to wean Beau off of some of his medication throughout the night and see how he does. If he continues to do well off medication and gets his appetite back, he may get to be discharged as early as tomorrow evening....but should definitely get to leave by Thursday night. Unfortunately, his bill is at $2,000 now. They anticipate another $500-$800 before he can be discharged. Again, that all just depends on how Beau does. The less critical he is and the less medications hes on, the lower the cost per day of hospitalization. The AMAZING thing is that it looks like Beau is going to survive this! The community has been so supportive. Through Beaus GoFundMe fundraiser and PayPal donations, weve raised $925 so far. Thats incredible...almost 50% of his current medical bill!
