Update on PPL Power Line Work in Saw Creek Estates PPL’s crews continue to work on access roads and crane pads at Ashley Court and Winchester Way. Ashley Court will be periodically closed at times to accommodate this construction. During the next few weeks, PPL’s Susquehanna-Roseland Project will begin preparing the towers for demolition by removing the black waterproofing material on the bottom of the old tower legs. Because these towers were built in the 1920s, this material may contain a small amount of asbestos. As such, PPL will be removing and disposing of this material properly and in accordance with all appropriate safety and environmental requirements. The work methods you will see (exclusion zones, workers in suits and respirators) are designed to protect PPL’s workers and the environment during this work. PPL has been doing this work successfully and safely at all locations along the line route. Residents are reminded that despite any temporary inconvenience you might experience due to road closures and other construction activity, the PPL project also brings significant benefits to our community. Beautification, landscaping and energy efficiency projects are being implemented and funded in part by prior agreement with PPL Utilities.
