Updates from Mandur, reported by Ravi Krishna Reddy as the protest - TopicsExpress

Updates from Mandur, reported by Ravi Krishna Reddy as the protest continues day and night. ---------- No one slept till 3 am. More than 150 villagers, half of them were women, kept the vigil whole night. Police came and threatened that they will take action if the villagers try to stop the trucks, but women were determined and adamant. (They cry every time they talk to the media or to outsiders.) So no trucks were allowed. Police found another route to the landfill via Bayyappanahalli and had dumped around 20 loads. By that time, 2 am in the night, people of that village grouped together and blocked that also. There were some reports that some were beaten. We shall know the true picture only today. 6 of us from AAP stayed there whole night. Sameer Asad is there for the last 2 days and he hasnt taken any break. Pavan Hiriyanna Hegde of Jayanagara, Jagadish from RT Nagar, two more members (Naveen and Sandeep) from Mahadevapura AC are still there. I left at 5 am to attend some personal work in the city, but will be back by 11 am. I request AAP members and supporters to come to Mandur and show our support to the villagers. More than 50 members, including Siddharth Sharma and Arkesh, were present yesterday. I thank everyone on behalf of the party. Hope to see many of you today (Sunday) at Mandur.
