Utopia? It wasnt always like that... it was worse, uhh! In the early 1970s there was nothing for the black indigenous Australians living as virtual slaves on their own tribal land... which was occupied by the settler society white man. This former cattle station used these people during the cattle season as workers then left them to fend for themselves dependent on the station (ranch) store which set prices for food + clothes to make a profit out of government handouts. The black people had nothing to live in during the freezing winters except the wrecks of old cars or canvas lean-tos while the white station owner + his family had just built a huge new homestead to fill with their so well-deserved luxuries. Then there were the memories of past massacres... in the not-so-early 1900s... so they decided they would fight to get their land back... now they have a poorly- serviced small community while the government recently squandered a A$ billion on a wave pool development in Darwin for tourists + workers on the gas + oil rigs offshore...
