VACANCY FOR GRAPHICS DESIGNER The Turks and Caicos SUN, the leading newspaper in the Turks and Caicos Islands, is expanding and we are seeking a Graphics Designer. We are looking for an extremely creative, energetic, organised, disciplined individual to design and layout printed and graphic materials for all the print products of our parent company, SUN Media Group. Reporting directly to the Publisher and Editor-in-Chief, the ideal candidate must be able to work well under pressure to perform routine and complex duties in a deadline-driven environment. He/she must be well versed in elegant and sophisticated design theory and execution and must be able to perform light copy editing to check for basic style, grammar and factual errors. He/she should be fluent in Quark, InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop and have knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office applications. A superior understanding of design concepts, typography, photography and knowledge of digital photography and retouching software is key. Web design, photography and writing skills are major pluses and will place you at a distinct advantage. The successful candidate must have excellent presentation, possess strong organisational and interpersonal skills and be able to take direction and assert ideas quickly. Attention to detail is necessary in order to handle a number of projects simultaneously. If you possess the above qualities, this job could be yours.
