VOLUME WARNING! Just turn your speakers off, our credit card reader kills the mic on my tabby so theres no audio anyway...oops. Anyway, heres an awesome story from our first festival- this little girl, Id say about like 10ish, had been returning to the booth all day long to hug and snuggle moms rainbow stick unicorn. Shed take him for a ride, bring him back to the display and just stand there snuggling and taking to him. She even named him Mr.Unicorn and at one point tried to trade two duct tape bow ties and a dollar for him. We told her she was getting close... This went on for HOURS, until the sun went down. It was obvious that he was hers, a deal just had to be made with her parents, so we stealthily asked a guy wed seen her talking to who turned out to be her dads employee. He had been watching her fall in love all day as well, so he quickly paid for Mr.Unicorn (with the vendor discount) and we agreed to let her think she was trading. A few minutes later she came up with a really cool little print of her dads artwork, THREE duct tape bow ties and eleven bucks. The video below starts with her tromping up to the counter with her trade. Then there are a lot of YES!!s and she rides her magical steed into the night never to be seen again. We gave the eleven bucks back, because duh. Her dad stopped by the next day to tell us that we made her life that night! He said she even slept with it that night and had very specific instructions for giving him enough exercise when she stays at her moms house. To top it off, turns out they live less than a mile from us. What a teeny tiny beautiful world we live in. It was one of the highlights of my life to make that happen for that little girl! I LOVE MY JOB!!!!! #haphazardcreativity makes miracles happen!
