VSA Arts of Georgia has been contacted by Matt Walker, a New Zealand born film maker based in Los Angeles about his current project. He is looking for people with disabilities to answer the question my dream is one day to be and capture it on film so he can include it in his film. We Happy Few, a documentary in its final stages of production, about intellectual and developmental disabilities in todays culture. Matts older brother, Paul has Fragile X and he is passionate about giving this community a voice. Here is an explanation of his project and a small link to information about the film. Here is a 2 minute explanation of this proposal - https://vimeo/106144963 Also here is a brief explanation of the film - https://vimeo/105893156 The film is produced by Rob Marsala and Matt is mentored on this project by Oscar winning documentary film maker Eva Orner. Please know - you can take the photo with a phone or camera. It doesnt need to be super professional quality. Just as long as the face and the sign can be seen clearly. The deadline for the photos is October 5, 2014. There will be private screenings of We Happy Few in Hong Kong, Sydney, New Zealand and Los Angeles in November / December. Then the film will be released into the film festival circuit for 2015. If you are interested in helping Matt, please contact him at wehappyfewfilm@gmail.
