Very, very pleased with my 10k today. No, it was not a PR - but it was just 1 minute off my 10k PR & it was far & away the hilliest 10k Ive ever done. 1:12:17, which works out to an average pace of 11:38. I found pacing incredibly difficult; my intention was to have negative splits, but I would slow down so much going up hills it was hard to tell my average pace. I think I actually managed it, but wont know til I can plug my garmin into my desktop. And I wasnt even last (but close! 86 out of 97 runners). The first photo was before the race; the second was with my buddy Darlene who took second in her age group. You can find her at myfirst5k.wordpress. The last was Chester in his pet cab from thepetcab (I think thats it)- a mesh jacket with d rings at each end - so I can attach the leash & put him over my shoulder - I carried him through the food line that way & it worked great!
