Very well done movie about the South and Southern Rock Music I - TopicsExpress

Very well done movie about the South and Southern Rock Music I have been most places and with a lot of people in the video. I have to say the Capricorn Records Picnic was a great time when Jimmy Carter was there running for president. At the picnic I ran into a lot of great people and friends. I worked at Capricorn in the recording studio at age 19 before coming to Muscle Shoals in the early 70s. Two were Dickey Betts and Hank Williams Jr. I knew both and when Dickey decided to take a ride in his truck Hank and I jumped in. Dickey was driving I was in the middle and Hank was riding shotgun. I few times when we ran upon the middle section of grass I was a little worried but not much. An exciting ride with Dickey and Hank. My band LeBlanc & Carr during the 70s had some hits with Falling being the biggest. I got Peter Rudge who had managed the Rolling Stones and was managing Lynard Skynard at the time to put us on tour with Lynard Skynard. We would open the show for them thus get some great exposure as Skynard were at their peak and drew massive crowds. Into the tour LeBlanc & Carr wanted to do a show in their home town Daytona Beach / Port Orange Florida. We did the show and Skynard went on to Carolina to play. We were to meet back up for next gig and continue our regular Skynard - L&C shows. As we got into town we heard that Skynards plain had went down. We new we would not be doing the show with Skynard that night but hadnt heard at time how many were hurt or even killed. A tragic day for many people. I left L&C and went back into the studio work and production. Pete Carr
