Vijaya Dashmi a great occasion in our mythology which we celebrate to see d triumph of truth over evil. Within ourself, we have 100 Ravana. The great Lankesh had 10 heads, we have hundred masks covering our true face. We say pride killed him, I guess what would happen with us if this was d reason of his death. We say he was brutal, lets see within ourselves, how brutal we are. At least, d great Vidhwan- Ravan was a devotee of Shiva n had such great knowledge that even God Ram acknowledge him. We can see evidence, when Ram was to start building Ram setu, d bridge towards Sri Lanka, it was d great pandit Ravan, who was called by Brahma to hold d puja n at d end, he blessed lord Ram n said Ram, teri jai ho. This means that he knew his end was near n certain n that he knew d neyati. Till now, authentic ram-leela is ended on vijay dashmi n before burning d effigy, a puja is performed of d great Lankesh which he righty deserves. Its a great occasion but I feel there is more than a Ravan within us n it has to be burnt first before we enjoy d huge structure coming down every year. One day in a year to kill Ravan is good but to kill d Ravan with ourselves ????
