The VGVWRA board is taking steps, in conjunction with the local and county authorities, to reduce the effects of this prevailing threat posed to our safety and investments within our neighborhood. From installing high tech cameras, to employing security personnel, the HOA board is open to all possible solutions aimed at combating this threat. Unfortunately, there is no easy solution that doesnt also generate other unsettling consequences, i.e., additional assessments to pay for security equipment and services. The VGVWRA board wants to continue containing dues and assessments as a priority, but may be unable to do so with the additional budget items aforementioned in this paragraph. The normal costs of operating the association are also growing. The board may consider shifting funds from capital reserves, but without making major cost and service cuts to budget items like pool, landscaping, and management, special assessments may be required as early as this fall to pay for security and safety efforts. The board wants to exhaust all possible low or no cost efforts to reduce or eliminate the threat to our community. We invite you to join our neighborhood watch program being started by volunteers. There will be an orientation and meeting at our community clubhouse located at 2 North Conley, on Monday, September 29th, starting at 7pm. The meeting will be conducted by The York County Sheriffs Department. Please contact the board @ (717)-938-9220, or visit vvgreen, to inquire or offer suggestions. The Newberry Township Board of Supervisors and Police Department are also working with us to help resolve the growing problems. Here are some simple things all of us can easily do to pitch in: leave our outdoor lights on at night, talk to your children about whats going on in the neighborhood, talk to neighbors, and immediately report details of suspicious activity to the police. The phone number for the NTS Police Office, during regular business hours is (717)-938-2608. The non-emergency Police phone number is (717)-854-5571, which transfers to York County 911 for officer assistance. For emergencies call 911. In addition, to keep in touch better, you can “like” the VGVWRA Facebook page which is updated with some ongoing efforts. There are links to submit anonymous “tips” to police on the page as well. Find the page easily by searching Vgvwra. Hope to see you on September 29th! Sincerely yours, VGVWRA board of directors *************************************************************** Stay tuned for more......
