*Visit graves under one condition* The Prophet (sal Allahu alaihi wa sallam) said: “I had forbidden you to visit graveyards. But now if you wish you may go to cemeteries, for the sight of graves makes one remember the life hereafter.” [Muslim] In the early days of Islam, when people were still very close to Jahilliya, only recently having forsaken its beliefs and practices, they were forbidden from visiting graves for fear that they might revert to their ignorant practices of Shirk with respect to graves. But once Eeman was firmly rooted in their hearts they were instructed to visit graves to motivate themselves to prepare better for the Hereafter. These days we have reached to same days of jahillya when graves were taken as places of worship. We were allowed to visit graves so that they may remind us of our death. In contrary to this when we enter a grave a big WoW leaves our mouth seeing the remarkable structure. Not only this there is intermixing of genders too. Few weeks ago i visited the shrine in Chaar of kashmir area so called Chaar e shareef, who remembered death there walllah ,we were mesmerised by the architecture.Lets abondon this pagan system. Now take these too: Abu Az-Zubair narrated that he heard Jabir (ra) say: I heard the Prophet (PBUH) forbid sitting on the graves and plastering or building structures over them. [Hadith No. 3225, Book of Funerals, Sunan Abu Dawud, Vol.3] Jundab(ra) said: Five days before he died, I heard the Prophet (PBUH) say, “I declare before Allah that I do not have a Khalil (a close friend) among you, for Allah has taken me as a close friend. If I were to take a close friend from among you, I would have taken Abu Bakr (RA) as a close friend. Those who came before you used to take the graves of their Prophets & righteous men as Masjids (places of worship & prayer); do not take graves as Masjids, I forbid you to do that.” [Hadith No. 1188 (532), Book of Masajid & Places of Prayer, Sahih Muslim, Vol. 2] To make the post conscise i have mentioned only three hadiths.
