Voorhees Township Police Officers were summoned to a closed carnival attraction at the carnival at the Voorhees Town Center to aid a 33 year old male carnival maintenance worker who had fallen from scaffolding while working on the attraction, which had been closed all day for unknown reasons. Initial reports indicated the worker had possibly fallen from a height of up to 30 feet, however, information was difficult to glean due to a language barrier at the scene during the initial minutes of rendering aid. The patient was subsequently transported via Voorhees Fire District Ambulance and Virtua Paramedics to Cooper University Hospital in Camden. Through further investigation, it has been determined that the worker fell approximately six feet to the ride platform, not 30 feet as initially reported. The attraction remains closed, as it was prior to this incident. The carnival is open for business. The worker has been released as of the time of this message from Cooper University Hospital with minor injuries.
