WAAPA is extremely grateful to the former WA Governor Malcolm McCusker and the McCusker Charitable Foundation, for the gift of the most beautiful Fazioli Grand Piano which was formally presented to the Academy at a concert held last night in the Music Auditorium. The gift replaces a grand piano donated by Dr McCusker and his late father Sir James McCusker to the institution 24 years ago. The piano will be used by students from across WAAPAs various disciplines including classical music, jazz, music theatre and composition. This amazing act of philanthropy is greatly appreciated by WAAPAs staff and students and we look forward to presenting this fine instrument in concert for the public at the WAAPA Open Day this Sunday and also at the fascinating Infinite Ivories concert on Thursday 21 August in the Music Auditorium.
