WAR IN THE NAME OF DEMOCRACY War is reciprocated armed or any other kind of conflict between political units aimed at a desired political end-state. War on democracy can also be defined as the war against a means for people to choose their leaders and to hold their leaders accountable for their policies and their conduct in office that is also the definition the value of democracy. Many people seem to understand democracy according to whatever they know what ever other people knows. Democracy is system of government that teaches and educate people on how to participate in their government, to hold their government accountable and learn about what is going on in with their government. For Society to understand what democracy mean. It most have journalist to inform and educate the society how their government is doing. It much have well trained, and independent minded journalists. Journalists are critic and independent minded people who can educate and represent public opinion. Journalists works are inform and educates the the public about what happening and inform people about what is their government is working on. Democracy in need journalism so journalism. Democracies dont go to was or is not about war but always about ways in which people can govern them. Though war creates job, democracy don’t go to war. This is because democracies like, work to promotes peace, and bring policies that creates jobs and development without fighting. There current war in South Sudan, shouldn’t be seen as a way bring democracy because democracy cannot be brought by killing people or fighting. There is no ways that war will bring democracy or peace but negotiation can clutch peace in many ways. It has been a year and two months now since this poorly calculated war which has taken the lives of beloved South Sudanese. We have see and experienced results of this war where bomb have cause distractions our town and villages. Oil Money and peoples taxes shouldn’t have been used in this senseless way. Those oil revenues and taxation should have been used in building schools, hospitals, roads, and other developments that our country needed most. Now we have seen the distractions of this useless war when we are defeat this evil called war? Our soldier are wounded in this unwanted war, some are dead or amputated, these people are not being taking care of and are not happy of missing their leg missing of their bodies parts in the name of back door democracy. This fighting isnt about democracy, its all about intermediation and terrorizing other innocent civilian in order for one to win his tribal pride. That isnt a democracy. There is no way that intermediations will bring democracy and people not think that if we fought then we will install democracy, federalism, good governance, humans rights and people will have right to elected their president. That is not the democracy because people who have been killed are going to participate and their human rights, which is right to life is violated. Democracy come when you win through election but not on a maw of a gun. There are many situations where countries work to outage the government but this is only done through peaceful means through elections. We fought the Arabs and elected our government, now we have duty to wait for election to choose leaders when times come and this is the only democratic way of promoting human rights, federalism, good governance and role of law. There shouldn’t be any reason to fight about democracy, because this fighting is not about democracy but it’s person interest in the name democracy and federalism. Also, we shouldn’t be talking about federalism because we already have federalism and that is why we have governors, representatives and states. What we need is empowering those governors, representatives states and supporting them to deliver the needed political goods and services. People call their president a commander in chief and he holds the legitimacy of the leadership and until when his times end. President is not commander in chief of civilian but a commander of army forces and this has nothing to do him with military ranks. I think this should be the talking point in South Sudan government because there is to separation of military and civilian. This is because President is always civilian person but always seek military advice incase of internal and external attack. In addition, president is always elected by civilian not by army, and when we talks about presidency in democratic society then we are talking about three branches of government judiciary, Legislative, and executive which fevering the civilians rule over military. In today’s news of SPLA/M party talk about unification in Arusha Tanzania, They should reflects on how to united our people, bring peace, and how to move out of this useless of war. Their interest in getting or being in power shouldn’t be in the expense of our civilian’s lives. This is because democracy has nothing to do with war but elections. Democracy does not mean if you lose you take arms, or if you relieve from position then you take up arms but it about election. Wait for election and contest again so people can choose who can lead them in a democratic way and that why democracy is called rule of the people. Copy@ Maulana Deng.
