WASHINGTON – A historical researcher has claimed that Jesus (peace be upon him) was a “mythical character” who “never existed” after he could not find any reference to him in 126 historical texts written in the first to third centuries.. “When I consider those 126 writers, all of whom should have heard of Jesus but did not, and Paul and Marcion and Athenagoras and Matthew with a tetralogy of opposing Christs, the silence from Qumran and Nazareth and Bethlehem, conflicting Bible stories, and so many other mysteries and omissions, I must conclude this ‘Jesus Christ’ is a mythical character,” author and historical researcher Michael Paulkovich was quoted by CBS on Wednesday, October 1. “‘Jesus of Nazareth’ was nothing more than urban (or desert) legend, likely an agglomeration of several evangelic and deluded rabbis who might have existed,” he added. The Story of Jesus, Son of Mary Top 30 Q & As on Jesus in Islam Muhammad & Jesus: Two Great Prophets of God Jesus: The Inspired Teacher (Folder) Paulkovich’s opinions were shared in an article published by the Council for Secular Humanism and in his book, “No Meek Messiah: Christianity’s Lies, Laws and Legacy.” In his writings, he argues that if the stories of Jesus were true then the writers of his era would have commented on someone known for his “global miracles and alleged worldwide fame.” Based on his research into 126 texts written by authors from the first to the third centuries, he claims that Jesus (pbuh) is a fictional character that was invented by Christian followers. Labeling the 126 texts he studied as works from “The Silent Historians”, Paulkovich argues that tales of Jesus are “nothing more than oral legend” and a “hoax” that were invented later. “The cult of Christianity has an incalculable amount of blood on its hands. And the ‘Jesus’ tale seems to have been nothing more than oral legend, with plenty of hoax and fraud perpetrated along the ages.” Muslims believe in Jesus as one of the great Prophets of God and that he is the son of Mary but not son of God. He was conceived and born miraculously. In the Noble Qur’an, Jesus is called Isa. He is also known as Al-Masih (the Christ) and Ibn Maryam (Son of Mary). As for his crucifixion, Muslims believe that Jesus was not crucified but was lifted up to heaven. Muslims believe that Jesus will come back to earth before the end of time to restore peace and order, fight the Anti-Christ (Al-Masih Al-Dajjal) and bring victory for truth and righteousness. The true followers of Jesus will prevail over those who deny him
