WC Qualifiers Ppreparations: Nepal to take on Gambhir’s team in Delhi... ________________________________ The Nepal national cricket team, during their tour of Delhi, will play a match against the side led by Indian batsman Gautam Gambhir. According to the High Performance Programme (HPP) group, Nepal will play three matches against Delhi District Cricket Association (DDCA) and one of them will be against Gambhir’s side. All three matches will be held at the Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium in Delhi. According to Sanjeev Pandey, who is coordinating Nepal’s tour matches ahead of the World Twenty20 Qualifiers in Dubai in November, Paras Khadka’s side will play three more matches—two with the Indian Railway Team and one with the Indian Airlines. The national team, which are currently under close camp, will leave for Delhi on October 20. Team manager Purna Lama said the Cricket Association of Nepal has designed the High Performance Programme (HPP) for the World Cup Qualifiers as advised by ACC Development Manger to Nepal Rumesh Ratnayake and coach Pubudu Dassanayake. “We’ve been following the outline provided by Rumesh and Pubudu to the word, keeping in mind our limitation,” said Lama, who is also a member of the HPP. Coach Dassanayke also hailed efforts of the HPP team for their assistance. “I am very happy with the preparation so far. Keeping in mind the 50 overs World Cup Qualifying in New Zealand in January, we hired a batting coach from Australia who will be able to give our boys extra tips on the batting conditions there,” said the former Sri Lankan batsman. The team have been practising on special wickets that resemble the conditions in Dubai and New Zealand, using a special bowling machine, Dassanayke added, “With all these facilities at our service our target now is not just to qualifyfor the Dubai event in November, but also to win it.”
