WE CAME SO CLOSE!!!!!!!!! Six bucks were coming straight at us in a train, single file. The king of the world bringing up the rear. They passed through our window one at a time... Second one, fourth one, fifth one... He finally appeared, just his head and his antlers walking through the grass... Just as his shoulders were about to clear the grass, he paused. I quietly whispered to my wingman Lee Hunter ONE MORE STEP!... He stood motionless staring out towards the other bucks. All of a sudden he wheeled back where he came from and disappeared!!! DEVASTATION HURLED THROUGH OUR VEINS!!! As we were filming our disappointment, he appeared again walking down the same trail!!! HE WAS COMING BACK!!! He did the same thing; walked up, paused inches before his vitals were clear, and wheeled back out of our lives, AGAIN!!! We have been hunting this magnificent creature for three years HARD, and this was the first time Ive ever seen him up close. The whole experience was gut wrenching but amazing at the same time. The footage is one of the most exciting scenes in LIVE2HUNT history!!! Tomorrow morning at 5am we ride again. I just hope we are granted one more chance to see this beautiful buck up close.
