WHAT CAN I DO for my friend who has cancer? I get these types of calls weekly. You guys are so sweet to want to do things for your sick friend. IF someone you know has been diagnosed with breast cancer or any other type of cancer, chances are THEY WILL NEED ALOT OF HELP. Especially if they have young kids. (When I was diagnosed, mine were kindergarten, 5th and 7th grade.) I needed help. NO one ASKED ME what they could do- THEY JUST DID IT. For that, I was so grateful. No one wants to ask for help, nor do they even know what they will need . They are just trying to get to all the dr appts, keep up with the information thrown at them as they are walking in a funk. WHAT CAN YOU DO? DO SOMETHING. ORGANIZE MEALS ( and make them nutritious for the whole family), organize car pools for the kids, TAKE HER OR HIM to chemo and the dr. appts, shop for groceries for them, help entertain the kids, clean house , mow the lawn, plant flowers in beds, ....... Be prepared to help for a good while.... it takes a long time to get thru the cancer process..... alot of people will grow weary and bale..right when they are needed. THANK YOU for steeping up and taking the lead. This will mean the WORLD TO YOUR FRIEND. TRUST ME..... it did for me.
