WHAT DOES IT MEAN JESUS DID NOT COME TO DESTROY THE LAW BUT TO - TopicsExpress

WHAT DOES IT MEAN JESUS DID NOT COME TO DESTROY THE LAW BUT TO FULFILL IT? It simply means what it says. You see man was under the law for the past 1500years before Jesus came to earth. But no man could keep it. Many tried from Moses thru to David and the Prophets, they all failed to keep the law 100%. Then Jesus comes and fulfills it 100% and because He has done so, we are now NO LONGER BOUND TO IT. #It is precisely because Christ fulfilled the law that we are not under it. If you owe someone a debt, and yo friend comes en pays yo debtor fully and even makes an overpayment, will you keep paying your debtor??.. #Ofcourse not especially if it was a debt you were completely unable to pay. No man is able to keep the law.. and breaking one is similar to breaking all (James 2:10) #There are no degrees of sin in Gods eyes, all are punishable by death. Thanks be to God that Christ came and fulfilled the law so that we (believers) may be freed from its clutches. The law is not and will never be destroyed, it is still needed to prove to the world and to the self righteous christians that they are incapable of keeping it and thus need a saviour... Romans 3:19 and Galatians 3:19 Friends, the next time someone speaks against grace by using the verse in Matthew 5:17 (I did not come to destroy but to fulfill the law) Give them the above explanation. #Do not be deceived into falling to mixture (some law and some grace) or any other work based righteousness. It is all of Christ and none of us (regarding to works and deeds and the glory thereof) #CHURCHBOY
