WHEN DELAYED DONT DERAIL How do you react when you think that there has been a delay in your life? What action do you take to compensate for what you perceive as a delayed need in your life? Would you wait for the real thing to manifest or opt for something entirely different? Yesterday at home during our morning prayers we discussed the issue of Moses and the lsraelites in the wilderness. Moses goes up the mountain to talk to God and leaves the people in the care of brother Aaron. Moses is gone for 40days and the lsraelites feel that their leader has delayed coming down to lead them to the land of milk and honey. This troubles them a lot and yhey strongly suggest to Aaron that they make a god, a golden calf, an idol with their hands to lead them to canaan. But these people had seen God at mount sinai and here they reject him in favor of a golden calf. Exodus 32:1 People have a tendency to take drastic measures when they feel that God is delaying in fulfilling His promise. When you feel that job, baby, promotion, or that breakthrough has delayed how do you react? By deciding to to make a false god they were rejecting God. They wanted a god with a face, a god they could see. The world may choose corruption as way to qiickly achieve what they want. In Africa mostly some end up looking for charms which they can see&touch, then they put their faith in them to accelerate their breathroughs. Some may put their faith in people over God. They derail their faith, they misplace it. They knew the promised land was waiting for them but they couldnt wait getting there. They forgot about God who had performed so many miracles for their sake. How quick it is for the human mind to forget the good that the Lord has done for us in the past. If we saw His goodness in our lives before surely we can trust Him to deliver again. When you feel delayed dont derail from the faith! God has a plan.
