WHO IS A VIRTUOUS WOMAN? SHALOM to you all. Just reflecting on Jezebels story and I wonder at how wicked the heart of a woman can be, how she caused the end of her n her husbands lineage n what the bible recorded happened to her in the end (1Kings21vs1-23; 2kings9vs30-37). M sure none of us want to end up like her. Despite being a kings daughter, she lacked royal attitude n obviously not a virtuous woman. This brings me to what and who exactly is a Virtuous Woman? One thing, we should understand is that we cant be a woman without first being a girl. Now, as a girl, what were the virtues we received from our mums, aunts, sisters n even friends and which ones are we portraying? These are the things that would mold us into a woman we become tomorrow. Do you want to be a Virtuous Woman or a Jezebel-like Woman? The question here is Who is a Virtuous Woman? A virtuous wife is a woman of worth, dignity, character and beauty. She does not disrespect herself and her husband by exposing her precious body in public. A virtuous wife does not dress indecently to entice, seduce or tempt the weak brother. She has senses, spirituality, simplicity and style in her dressing and her entire wardrobe honors God. A virtuous wife dresses elegantly but she doesnt strive for outward beauty that just turns men’s heads towards her - she strives for inner beauty that turns men’s hearts towards God. The style of a virtuous woman is not determined by Hollywood but by the Holy Word - she doesnt just follow trends; she sets trends. She doesnt just follow glamorous models; she is a glorious role model. A virtuous wife in not a disgrace to her sisters or a snare to her brothers; a humiliation to her husband nor a dishonor to God. “Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies.” Proverbs 31:10!
