WILL AMERICA MOVE FURTHER TOWARD SOCIALISM? As I have informed you in the past that America is as socialism as socialism gets, we just practice socialism incorrectly. We had a Tax Code that promoted investments and while encouraging consumption and savings at the same time. Taxes were High, but ways around paying taxes were higher and better. When the Tax rate was around 50% CEOs did not want cash in compensation, they preferred to receive stock. Stock was not taxable and they had most of their wealth locked in stock. The companies did well, the workers did well and America did well. As we lowered the Tax Rate more CEOs began to demand cash in compensation, investment plummeted, companies growth fell and workers and America stagnated. The distribution of wealth shifted and now the poor has increased and the middle class has been almost destroyed. The dynamics that made America the most productive country on the planet has been destroyed by concepts and anti-concepts that sound good on the surface, but are horrible in practice. It seems that the masters that developed the system that made us great are gone and leaving the country in the hands of people that never took the time to fully understand what they were taking apart.
