WINDSOR POLICE SERVICE EMERGENCY 911 CENTRE announces openings for temporary part-time (maximum 24 hrs/week) DISPATCHERS/COMMUNICATORS QUALIFICATIONS: Canadian citizen or permanent resident of Canada 18 years of age minimum Grade 12 education or equivalent possess superior verbal and written communication skills must demonstrate the ability to perform simultaneous tasks (multi tasking) be able to deal with the public in a cordial manner Certificate in Public Safety Communications or experience in telecommunications/service dispatch would be considered an asset Experience in a computerized office environment and proficiency in Microsoft Office will be viewed as an asset Must be available for all shifts in a 24 hour schedule. HOURS OF WORK: Shift work, not to exceed 24 hours a week. RATE OF PAY: $31.75 hourly Selected candidates must achieve a passing score on spelling, grammar and written testing, must be able to type 40 words per minute and must also achieve an acceptable score on the Communications ‘Criticall’ Examination. Successful candidates will also be required to successfully complete a thorough background investigation and psychological testing.
