Jan 27, 2014 THE TESTIMONIES OF YESTERDAY 1 Sam 17:34 Moreover David said, “The Lord, who delivered me from the paw of the lion and from the paw of the bear, He will deliver me from the hand of this Philistine.” And Saul said to David, “Go, and the Lord be with you!” One lesson to be learnt from the battle between David and Goliath is that the testimonies of yesterday are for the battles of tomorrow because the testimonies of yesterday will justify a similar happening in the future. It establishes that if God has done it before, He can do much more again. David took his understanding of this principle into battle and returned victorious. If you will continue to enjoy grace in its extravagant form you must learn to pause and remember the victories God gave you in time past. This will take a conscious effort on your part as it is easier to remember and bemoan the evil of the past than it is to remember the victories. Never again think that your blessings, regardless of how little they might appear to be, do not count. You may not yet be where you ought to be but you are not where you used to be. God is the reason you have not lost everything so do not let the devil change or corrupt your music by dwelling on all that has not worked out. Your cup of gratitude must not remain empty. You might not have children yet but have you thanked Him for the spouse He gave you? Have you thanked Him for your job though you didn’t get that promotion yet? When you stop looking at what God has not done and focus on what He has done, He remembers you. Gratitude is a weapon we all must wield. Make up your mind, like David, to remember the testimonies of yesterday so you can win in the battles of today.
