WORD Today 11/16/14 Prv 31:10-13, 19-20, 30-31 1Thes 5:1-6 Mt 25:14-30 Blessed (Happy) are those who fear the Lord. (Resp. Psalm) But how can we be fearful & happy at the same time? Fear the Lord is not being scared but rather in awe and reverence of the Lord. We can be scared of God and try to keep sinless. This is necessary, but life is not happy if we limit ourselves to this. What makes us happy is using the time, talent & treasure our King gave us His servants to help Him build up His Kingdom of love that produces for Him a harvest of souls. Just being sinless is like burying our 3Ts in the ground. They will rot & disappear as if taken away. Whereas if we use them, God will give us ever more, making us ever happier in the closeness of Jesus. Today the Lord will once more come and give us The Greatest Treasure - Himself in the Eucharist. In awe and reverence, let us promise Him we will serve more.
