(WRCB) - Mother Nature is going to shake up the southeast quarter of the nation in the next few days. A serious cold front is heading our way. Clouds will be increasing tonight and lows will drop into the low 40s. A few places will see 30s, but with the increasing cloud cover I am not expecting frost, yet. Showers will move in for Friday with a cool high in the low 60s. Once the front passes in the afternoon the winds will shift and will get stronger with gusts to 15 and out of the northwest. Much colder air will move in for Friday night along with gusty winds. Lows will drop into the low to mid 30s, but with gusty winds frost is unlikely. While this occurring here, accumulating snow will start to fall in the Blue Ridge mountains. Amounts over 6 inches is likely in the higher elevations east and north of Knoxville. Heavier amounts are possible in the highest peaks. Saturday will have mostly cloudy to cloudy skies with a strong gusty winds out of the northwest. Highs will struggle to hit 50! A frost or freeze is expected for Sunday morning with lows near 31 in the city. Highs Sunday will be in the upper 50s with lots of sunshine. For the latest, download the WRCB weather app. For Friday: 8 AM ... Few Showers, 43 Noon ... Few Showers, 55 5 PM ... Few Showers, 62
