Wanted to share a neat experience from Elder Bradley Jacob - TopicsExpress

Wanted to share a neat experience from Elder Bradley Jacob Ashcrafts email today. I think people especially from American fork will like this- Last of all, one cool thing happened last night. It was when we felt like we should go see one of our less actives. They told us the story of how they came into the church way back in the day. How they had gotten Ahold of a Book of Mormon up just a little bit north of here.and had been stuck in this cabin one winter, and read everything else not wanting to read it. Brother Lawrence, then decided to read it and found it super interesting. He talked to his wife about it and she said it was nonsense. one day not long after, she ran into the sisters and invited them for dinner just to show him how absurd this whole mormon thing was. That Backfired just a little bit, and she ended up being more converted than he was after the first visit. They were baptized and have been mostly active until recently ever since, and all of their children were baptized as well. We made a funny connection though. They asked me where I was from a little bit after that. When I told them that I was from American Fork, her Eyes seemed to brighten up. She said one of the sisters who helped convert her were also from American Fork. I explained that American Fork had many members and I might not know them, but that notion went away when they told me her last name, at least her married last name. She said Ivins, I think that was her last name, at least her married last name. She said shed probably be in her 50s or so by now. Then eventually she thought of her first name, after explaining she hadnt been in contact with her a long time. It was funny. I was not expecting it, but when I looked at the stake directory today, It turned out it was indeed the Stake Presidents wife. It showed sometimes the world can be very very small. She is our current stake presidents wife here in our home ward. Some of you know her from being involved in American Fork marching band. Lynette Ivins :)
