Wantoks and friends in Townsville, JCU PNG Students Association are hosting an event to collect donations for a PNG international student ( Helen Morlin) whose daughter is seriously ill. The event is a screening of the film “Splinters” which is about the evolution of indigenous surfing in PNG. You can check out the trailer here: vimeo/22277325 . The film makers are flying to Cairns and will be holding a Q&A after the film (which will be video linked to Townsville). JCU students, this will be the best stress buster after the hectic 2 weeks of exams. Please come along and support this worthy cause. Event details are as follows: Date: Friday 21st November Time: 6:00pm Location: Building 26 (Sir George Kneipp Auditorium Cost: $15 (cash only at the door). This includes drinks and canapés.
