{Warning: I am [Stepping onto my soapbox]} We, as citizens of the formerly greatest country in the world, need to stop accepting things as they are. If there is something happening in your life that you dont like, dont understand, arent satisfied with, etc. then you are the best person to fix it. You, yourself, may not have the faculties or means to first-hand affect change but you always have the ability to ask for help... or even ask for help getting help if it is that hopeless. No, I am not talking to any ONE specifically. There are issues that are being perpuated or exacerbated by our refusal to address or find the true genesis of said issues. I have said before on here, that if you dont know the answer then you are not asking the right questions. I contest that any hotbed topic in our world today can be resolved by walking ones way through a series of questions. ISIS/ISIL, Ferguson, Mo., Ebola, illegal immigration, etc., as well as any personal problems each of you still reading this may be having are all explainable if not solvable or resolvable. For issues like flag burning in Ferguson, the manifestation of anger is because of unaddressed societal apathy created by generations of a something-for-nothing attitude and a lack of imposition of consequences for peoples actions. They claim they want justice when they want retribution. If they want a solution to the problem, they need to ask themselves questions until they get the answer that will help them heal. The problem is they have to be honest with themselves about where the problem originated. As far as islamic terrorism is concerned, people are worried about not offending them. It couldnt be more clear that you cannot fight with rules of engagement against an enemy who fights with none. If your enemy has religious beliefs that justify and impel him to kill his enemy, us or anyone who is not them, by any means necessary then we cannot be timid, we cannot reason with them. We must at least defend ourselves by any means necessary. The only thing they will understand is force. We must deter their actions by consistent, accurate, disheartening, most likely deadly attacks. As is said in military circles, if they want to meet their god then we should arrange that meeting. The best defense is a good offense. My point has been made so I wont expound on the other two issues I brought up. With your personal issues it is simple. Just keep asking questions until you figure out what it will take to make you happy. You may ask if I think I have it all figured out... and I will admit I dont. I want more out of life, so I am not complacent. I have taken actions in the past to get me where I am today for better or for worse and I am accountable for those actions. I am a work in progress but I am happy with who I am each night when my head hits the pillow. And by that proxy, whatever other people opine about me is of no consequence to me. I wish you, my friends who are still reading this, the same peace of mind and comfort in your own skin. [Steps off of soap box]
