Watched Gotham last night on Hulu. I sincerely hope they slow up on the hey look its _____; however, of all the obvious ones I wonder about the man who killed Bruces parents. As Bruce describes him the two main things mentioned are a black mask, and shiny shoes. The character did have a characteristic robber bandana over most of his face. The shiny shoes thing becomes a plot point; however, was the pointing out of a black mask a subtle (as if this show was ever subtle with these Easter eggs) nod to the Batman villain Black Mask? They made sure you heard it clearly. I wouldnt put it past them to try to re-imagine the origins of Black Mask in order to make him the Waynes killer, pre-mask of course, rather than Joe Chill, the Joker, Tommy Lee Jones, or whoever killed the Waynes in X version of the story. Maybe Im crazy, but that popped into my head as soon as I heard the line.
