Watched The Young Lions, and when I first saw this movie in 1958, I was 19 years old....Marlon Brando plays a German Commander, who becomes disenchanted with Hitler. Brando was good in this role and he had bleached blonde hair....Montgomery Clift was also excellent, per usual. At age 19, I did not really get the gist of the message, but today, I realized what Irwin Shaw, the writer, was saying. War is senseless, for all sides. A shocking ending... No winners.....NONE! ( Brando at his best, IMHO. )
