Watched this with a knot in my throat and tears in my eyes. You might roll yours correctly stating that I will never have to endure this injustice/harassment/humiliation/demoralization because of my privilege, just know there are times where I really think I am brave enough to wish this upon myself, in hopes of giving credence to my seething rage and explain the nausea I feel after every one of these incidents. Arent you sick of seeing this? And yes by this I mean rouge white cops abusing their authority to terrorize black youth. His crime? Inconsequential. You have a right to know what you are being arrested for and to be read your Miranda rights ( Miranda rights are utilized by law enforcement to make you aware of your rights as a US citizen.) YOU ARE INNOCENT UNTIL FOUND GUILTY BY A JURY OF YOU PEERS. And yet this cop treats this man like a convicted felon. Its evident he lets his fear (brewed by ignorance) take over his humanity- Im scared Im scared PLEASE dont shoot me SIR!? And as a sworn protector and servant to the community you still ignore his desperate pleas for an explanation? JUST an explanation?!? because he knows he wont get equality if he asks for that. Many of you will be turned off by my passion, many of you are turned off by anyone who pokes a hole in their everythings fine bubble dont make waves you say, dont entice them its not our problem. My deepest prayer is that we can open our eyes and see that this IS our problem, it has been since the birth of our country, and more broadly since the beginning of mankind. When we let fear rule our actions, when we forget we were put here for one another, our souls darken, what makes us human dies off. We need to listen to the cries of our neighbors, better educate our police (Stanford prison experiment might be a good place to start *cough) and embrace that we are in this together and it takes all of us to find peace and resolution. Yep I went all the way there ✌️
