Watching an older movie, Independence Day. Ive watched bits and pieces but never the entire movie. I used to like Tom Cruise until that Oprah couch thing and Katie Holmes. Something in my brain just switched with him and its taken me all this time to actually be interested in seeing him in anything. Hes piqued my interest tonight, once again. Vietnam was hell on earth. Anyone that served in that horrible place, god bless you just doesnt cut it. War does something to your mind, you can not erase it, frontal lobotomy possibly..........no pill, no behavior mgt, no therapist, psychiatrist/psychologist.........nothing takes that horror out of your mind. You may numb it, to an extent, booze, other mood downers/uppers/enhancers, etc............but its there until the day you die. Ive lived with it, Ive watched it in another family, coping.......is not possible some days. Watching these soldiers brings back memories. The hospitals, lack of care, the boys that were paralyzed, unable to get up and help themselves, it is too sad for right now.............
