Watching the evening news. Our fine governor has at long last signed the most important piece of legislation that our state has been debating for months and perhaps years. From this day forward let it be known the state of Illinois has a Puppy lemon law. Sellers of puppies are required to have puppies vaccinated and vet checked. If a puppy gets sick the evil and preditory seller must refund money or pay the the vet bills. While my family has sold Border Collie puppies for 40+ years using this common sense and customer/animal honorable "handshake" warranty it is a relief to know our government has finally placed this at the forefront of the issues our state should regulate. To many of you that feel we should concentrate on fiscal policy and funding programs and regulation already in place that include paltry issues such as education I thumb my nose at you and celebrate the victory that I share with our canine friends. Excuse the length of the post but I get wordy at times that I have my tongue so firmly planted in my cheek.
