We all have friends from high school that we have not seen for - TopicsExpress

We all have friends from high school that we have not seen for awhile if not even years; some live across country and others are as close as they were when we were in school. I know I am as guilty as the next person in thinking I need to call, e-mail or better yet go visit a classmate. I did it once, kept saying to myself I need to go visit, I need to go, I need to go; however, the day I went was actually 2 hours to late as the classmate and friend had passed. Let us try the remainder of this year to reach out and call or visit one classmate a month whom we have not seen or talked to for awhile. I have begun my list of friends I think and wonder about that I say I need to stop by and say hi to or even just give them a call. Go through the previous posts here and see how many classmates are no longer with us. A minister friend once told me that he had scan his newspapers obit list one day and suddenly realized that the average age that day was in the mid-forties. As a 65-year old I expect to see individuals, who are my age and older, names in that section of the paper; as a 20-year old I never expected to see the name of an 18-year old friend but I did, no it was not in Vietnam it was in Germany. At the Alumni Banquet we have a board that list the names of classmates who are no longer with us and every year that list grows and the unfortunate part is that there is hardly a graduating class that does not have at least one name. Take time, your schedule is not that busy, and give that friend a call or stop by and visit. Some day it might be you wishing that someone would call or stop by.
