We are always going to encounter difficult days and stressful situations, having a healthy way to release some of that negative energy is important and exercise is a great way to do this as it is beneficial for not only our physical health, but our mental and emotional wellbeing. For me personally I find that a heavy weights session will instantly boost my mood, it is a fantastic stress relief for me and I am left with a great sense of accomplishment and satisfaction at the end of it. So next time youre having a bad day, instead of reaching for a bottle of wine, or attempting to devour an entire tub of Ben & Jerrys (weve all been there!!), go for a run, walk the dog or if youre like me, go throw some weights around. The endorphins released from exercise will naturally boost your mood and you will be left with a sense of accomplishment rather than regret. MJ x
