Our Client: Our Client is a Major Player within the nuclear industry. Covering full project life cycle, including front end engineering and optioneering, concept design, detail design, support through manufacture, testing, installation, commissioning, operations, maintenance and asset management. Over the last few years our client has successfully undertaken and delivered over 2000 projects of values between £10K and 5M+. Their portfolio of projects undertaken includes most of the Nuclear Decommissioning Authorities current top 10 most challenging projects. Specific requirements of the Senior/ Mechanical Engineer: • Must be at least BC cleared • Willing to travel to Oxford site The Role of the Senior Mechanical Engineer: • Undertakes design work, leads and guides others in technical discipline; takes responsibility for meeting delivery schedule and quality; supervises performance of the discipline team; reviews progress schedule and quality; supervises performance of the discipline team; reviews progress with Principal Consultant when necessary. • Experienced mechanical design engineer; experienced in optioneering, estimating and front end design; with understanding of whole design lifecycle. • Experienced in decommissioning and waste handling design • Experienced in remote operations • Familiar with stakeholder engagement and management within optioneering and design • Able to work collaboratively with other discipline designs at peer level • Knowledge of nuclear licensing regulations compliance processes The Role of the Mechanical Engineer: • Reporting to the Senior Consultant. Under general performs assigned work to delivery schedule and quality. Supervises graduate/ trainee where appropriate • Experience mechanical design engineer; experienced in optioneering, estimating, and front end design; with understanding of whole design lifecyle • Experience in decommissioning and waste handling design • Experience in remote operations • Familiar with stake holder engagement and management within optioneering and design Experience of the Senior Mechanical Engineer: • 5-10 years’ experience in the nuclear or similarly highly regulated industry. Experience of the Mechanical Engineer: • 2 – 5 years professional experience Qualifications of the Senior Mechanical Engineer: • Relevant degree in an appropriate discipline and where appropriate relevant chartership and/ or professional memberships. Qualifications of the Mechanical Engineer: • Relevant degree or diploma (or in the absence therefore > 5 years professional experience) in an appropriate discipline.
