We are situated half way between Harrogate & Ripon but to be - TopicsExpress

We are situated half way between Harrogate & Ripon but to be honest as a family we tend to do most of our daily things in Harrogate. It does mean that when I visit Ripon even though its not far at all I almost feel like Im on holiday. Its a lovely market town (by rights a city as it has the cathedral at its heart) steeped in history. It has had a influx of some lovely independant resturants and shops lately, especially galleries. With its river and canal it has some beautiful walks as well. When I visited last week I discovered that a new cinema had opened in the heart of the town (just off the market square). It looks lovely-very arty and has a good cafe inside. It only has two screens and tending towards not so mainstream films. The Book Thief is showing at the moment. Definitely looks worth a trip. I always love a good cinema so very happy this is now on the doorstep. A bit further afield but really worth a trip is The Everyman cinema in Leeds. Been there many times-seats are sofas with scatter cushions, it has a proper bar and you can take coffee, cakes, bar drinks and freshly made pizzas into the cinema. A real treat.
