We are so beyond blessed to be home. Koen is still excessively fussy, we had lab today but honestly the labs arent significant enough to indicate what is causing him to be so upset. His hemoglobin is slowly rising which is great but his white blood count was a little higher and his platelets are still on the high side. We once again have been so blessed by his journey, we have seen unbelievable acts of kindness from so many friends, strangers, healthcare providers, and family. It has been difficult for us to take this step back but as always we are ensured that God has a plan and reason for everything. We are so thankful that Koen returned to his baseline function after such a BIG and unexpected brain surgery because there is always a risk of losing his abilities or even him! Even coming home has its challenges because Im not used to caring for such a fussy guy, it breaks my heart that my arms dont bring him comfort, he is far from getting adequate sleep which means we are all tired. Its hard not feeling helpless not being able to calm Koen down he is so tense and upset, it hurts me so bad to see him hurt. I know The Lord will give me strength. I pray that Koens suffering is short and resolves soon and that dr can find and treat the source soon.
