We are so grateful for all the love God has given to us over these - TopicsExpress

We are so grateful for all the love God has given to us over these past days as we live into the reality of life without Daniel as one physically present with us. His pain is over. He is at peace. Daniel fought a long, painful and courageous battle against this highly misunderstood disease Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS)--or my preference, CF Immune Disorder (CFID). It is this disease that took his life. The disease took his life and now we, as we face the pain and live into it a day at a time, are grateful for the stories, hugs and words of support in people present with us, as well as those walking alongside through cards, prayers, food and numerous other ways you have been, and are being, Gods Healing Presence for us now. This has been, and continues to be, the way our Triune God shows up in this painful time of grief, a time of facing a future with a mixture of hope, uncertainty, and yes, even fear. We look forward to seeing how this Presence continues through you, our family, our long time friends, and all the people God has given us through our callings in Church and life. We have loving friends, loving partners in this Story, people from so many places. And now there are these new friends, friends like Daniel DeForest London, Harvey Mudd classmates, friends from Daniels book club, Cargill, people from Sartell and Brownton schools, and so many other places where Daniels generosity, smile, kindness and wisdom touched lives in helpful, loving, and kind ways. We thank God for all of you. Please know, even if you are not named in this list above, a list that needs to include so many more people and relationships, you are a great cloud of witnesses to us, Elizabeth, Nathan, and Amy Strenge. For now, if you have been part of this great cloud of witnesses in any way, or are joining it now as we move forward, please know how much we appreciate you. The grief is yet ever present even as we catch an occasional smile like the ones shared on Sunday after worship in a coffee shop in St Joseph. The pain will continue as stories are told and memories come. And, for at least a time, that grief seems to be overwhelming. It hurts so much to release Daniel to Gods care and keeping. The Resurrection promise becomes even more a lifeline. Your prayers and presence help. So, for those who carry us, thank you for the ways God has used you anf will use you in the days to come.. May that love be extended to others as well as we await the dawning of a new day and pray with the Holy Spirit our sighs too deep for words clinging to as much faith as the Spirit gives for this day and saying, By the tender mercy of our God the dawn from on high is breaking upon us, to give light to those who dwell in darkness and in the shadow of death, to guide our feet into the way of peace. (Luke 1)
