We can tweak our consciences through justifications, - TopicsExpress

We can tweak our consciences through justifications, rationalizations, or blaming--the three main ways we alter the truth. This wrong response to truth creates a hardening effect (1 Timothy 4:2). 1. Justification - Pronouncing my actions as not guilty, regardless of what the Bible says about them. 2. Rationalization - Comparing what I did with others by minimizing the wrongness, while creating tolerance for doing what I want to do. 3. Blaming - Rather than perceiving and acknowledging my wrongness, I blame others for what went wrong--I refuse to own my sin. rickthomas.net/a-simple-guide-on-how-to-make-a-decision-about-anthing/
