We got to sleep in a little this morning so that was nice! Our first radiation appointment was today and we were a little late (oops! :) Mom and I were able to go into the room and see what the machine and bed she would be laying on look like. And we were all told it was going to be a longer time laying on the bed today for Lauren because they were going to do x-rays and make sure everything was PERFECT before they started radiation. So mom and I went back out into the lobby and waited which consisted of me helping momma pass her level on candy crush. About half way into Laurens treatment mom and I went and talked to a nurse and she gave us more information about her treatment. Lauren then came into the room when she was all done with her radiation and I guess she got a tattoo while she was back there!! (haha they just did a tiny dot on her chest so they know exactly where they should line up the machine). And Lauren unfortunately was extremely in pain towards the end of the treatment on the bed. Because she has to stay completely still during the entire treatment (which is usually about 15 minuets or so, but today was close to 40!! because of all of the X-rays and stuff today!) so she was pretty upset after that, but we were told that she can take some pain meds before treatment to ease some of that pain, so we will try that tomorrow and see if that will help at all. Momma and I dont like seeing our girl in pain! So hopefully tomorrow will be a lot easier! But after that we went to Safeway to get some lunch and groceries and then just relaxed in our room. And later Lauren and I went to Baskin Robbins!! It was so good, she LOVED it! You could tell because it was all around her mouth (haha whats new?!) that seemed to cheer her up so that was good! But tomorrow is Friday! So we have meetings with PT, OT, and with the pharmacist to talk about her chemotherapy pills at Childrens and then her radiation at UW all back to back so hopefully we will be back home in Poulsbo around dinner time!! All of us are ready to be back home and with our pup Abby!
