We had quite a day!! We had a clinic appt to check Seths numbers/levels and were also supposed to get two infusions. When we got to our special infusion room, it is procedure to check blood pressure before starting. Weve struggled with high blood pressure since after transplant due to one of his medicines. Weve decreased the dose of that specific medicine 4 times already! It is a very important one though, as it helps his body not fight against the new marrow, so we cant wean him off of it completely. A normal level for this med in his body is 250. Anything much above that number, they would decrease his dose again. His number today was 480!!!! :( This medicine, as I said, also causes high blood pressure. I think we checked his blood pressure about 20 times over an hr and a half. The highest it was was 167/130. The bummer is that hes probably been having this crazy high blood pressure for the last two weeks now without us knowing... So, we had to get him an emergency dose of a medicine that would bring his blood pressure down and cancel the two infusions for today. Its definitely a tweaking process with all of these medicines and getting the doses right for him!! We now head back everyday this week to check his levels of this medicine and his blood pressure. So, its a get out of school free card for the kids and we enjoy some time outside the house! Thanks for praying with us for Seth!!! Day +56 of #100wonderfuldays
