We have been released from hell!!!! Hooray!!!!!!! in our years doing gate guarding, the last 6 days were by far the worse. Didnt have a pad to set rv on. Setting in a hole. I already told about the gate. With the heavy rain that was predicted, we would have been there for weeks. Because the ground is so hard, heavy rain does not soak in, it causes flooding. We told our company it might be a good idea to get out yesterday afternoon rather this morning as we probably could not get out. They had 6 days to find someone and we were really doing them a favor by going. The people they found to replace us yesterday afternoon had to come from Port Arkansas which is about a 3 hour drive. They were going to spend the night in truck and bring rv in today. We wish them all the best. A mechanic came to relieve us so we never met them. As we drove out we made a right and on the left there were sand trucks lined up as far as we could see with the mechanic not having a clue what to do with them. We felt sorry for him. Left there at 7 and drove 40 miles back to Choke Canyon State Park. Our friends, Debbie and Heidi, are still there. Heidi was out and helped us get parked. Not an easy task in the dark. They also had pizza waiting for us.A true blessing as we were very tired and wee bit frustrated. We have to wonder what we did right to have these rwo great ladies in our life. Left Choke Canyon at 7 this morning to meet our mechanic in Karnes City at 8:15. They took us to our new location to rejoin our rig. We are in Kenedy, 2 miles out of town. We are down a pretty country lane and our company man had them build our pad just the way we like it. It is huge with pea gravel. So no matter how much rain, we wont be in mud. Nice scenery out all the windows. Already met the land owner and they are very nice. They are moving in the rig as I am writing this. Cant wait to see the all the guys. Moral to this long tale, if you wait long enough, everything works out. Happy, happy. Hope you are having a great day!!
